Carlee is a School Social Worker for Montabella Community Schools, working primarily with children in the special education department. She recently graduated from University of Michigan with a Master of Social Work in 2014. Prior to this, she attended Central Michigan University where she studied Social Work and Psychology. Carlee was a student at Academy of Performing Arts for 14 years and studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical. She also was a member of Francis Performing Arts Company for 8 years.
Carlee has taken classes at Lou Conte Dance Studio and with River North Dance Co in Chicago, and attended Dance Interim summer camp for several years. Carlee has had the opportunity to study with such notable teachers as Lane Alexander, Barbara Phillips, Bril Barrett, Jay Fagan, Sarah Savelli, Thommie Retter, and Nic Gareiss for tap; Kathy Thibodeaux and Birute Barodicaite for ballet; Ariane Dolan and Liz Joynt Sandburg for jazz.
Carlee has continued to stay involved with APA through teaching, choreography and subbing, and she is excited to return as a teacher again this year. She loves working with kids and has a lot of fun with the students at APA!
