Big Brother/Big Sister Fashion Show Fundraiser

at Ithaca's Hometown Cellars Winery		 Hosted by Alley-T, the this first annual fundraiser featured our APA dancers modeling Alley-T's fashions. All proceeds went to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Gratiot and Montcalm counties.

3/19-21/10 Chicago Dance Weekend

Dancers from the Academy of Performing Arts traveled to Chicago for a weekend of dance. Director KF took 8 Francis Performing Arts Company 1 dancers (Amanda Gatlin, Moriah Gilbert, Briana Moe, Kailyn Sandow, Ursula Seals, Madison Seeley, Natalie Walsh, Melanie Yost) and 3 APA instructors (Kristen Bennett, Telli Luneack, Tara Roberts), plus parents and some younger dance siblings, for their 5th annual trip.

All attended a performance of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago dance company. Dancers participated in classes at HSDC's home studio Lou Conte Dance Studio all day Saturday. They took a choice of LCDS classes including jazz, tap, African, modern or musical theater, then all dancers took jazz with LCDS faculty Ariane Dolan, then ballet with Birute Barodicaite. Birute is known as "Chicago's ballet teacher", and has taught at many professional dance studios in the Chicago area, including Lou Conte Dance Studio and Ruth Page Ballet Foundation. APA director KF is an alum of Lou Conte Dance Studio as both student and faculty, and also alum of Hubbard Street Dance Company.
